Happy New Year: Death Rage (1976)

This is an annual guilty pleasure every new year--a kind of rite of passage.  In looking for a better copy of it today, and always wondering why it every copy is cropped, I was informed that no copy of the original 35mm print has survived; the only surviving copies are on 16mm.  That is a fact I never knew.  It famously stars Yul Brynner, and it actually an Italian film, hence the alternative poster above.  Somehow the Italian filmmakers managed to also get Martin Balsam mixed up in the whole affair.   I have NYC listed as keyword, because the film starts off in that city, and famously, but also briefly, shows a huge shot of the Twin Towers.  It's a good old fashioned crime revenge flick, set and shot in and around Naples, after Christmas, action takes place during New Year's.  Mob stuff.
