The Fly (1986)




Geena Davis double feature, this won for exactly the same Oscar as Beetlejuice did, Best Makeup--again the only Oscar this film was nominated for.

Aliens (1986)




Nominated for 7 Oscars, it mananged to win two, one for Visual Effects, the other for Sound Effects Editing.  Sigourney Weaver was nominated for her performance under the Best Actress role. Two important (!) icons from the Sci-Fi world handed out the Visual Effects Award!

Nominated for 7 Oscars, including Best Actor and Best Picture.  

Gravity (2013)






Nominated for 10 Oscars (and this time I can understand why!), it won 7; the most important for Best Director.  Sandra Bullock was nominated for best actress in this, but lost to Cate Blanchett.
























The Dark Knight (2008)





Was nominated for a whopping 8 Oscars and won two, the one above for Best Sound Editing; and the saddest win in a very long time:  that for Heath Ledger's posthumous win for Best Supporting Actor as the Joker.  Below his family accept on his behalf.
