We don't get to see much of the aliens that are growing the Kaiju...other than they are really fucking surprised when Gypsy Danger blows hell out them...
All I need is just a hint of an excuse to play this film in any give Friday Fright Theme. Aliens most certainly count! Thing is I grew up loving creature feature re-runs of Godzilla films and having an extra alien element added to the story (and coming not from outer space, but from deep within the secretive sea) really excited me when I saw this in it's theatrical run. This is also our second outing with the really handsome and talented Idris Elba, this time with he actual accent (he's also in Prometheus). But truth be told, I am just such a huge fan of the SOB character that is Hannibal Chau! He's almost an alien unto himself. Pretty sure he got his shoes from some place other than earth! Ancient Aliens, maybe??
